Siew Yuk Ter-Best Di Malaysia

Bersyukur kepada ___________ (fill in the blank). Siew Yuk ter-BEST di Malaysia telah dijumpai.

2nd Best Char Siew in Malaysia

This shop located under an overhead bridge along Jln Loke Yew fully deserves to be the runner-up of the coveted "best char siew" in the country (heck cares what others may think).

I shortlisted this shop as the top three in Malaysia many months ago, but i had the opportunity to retry the three for the past month and this time i'm saying it without a doubt.

Enjoying it myself is a pleasure; treating it to others who appreciate how good it tastes is a satisfaction; taking the hassle of bringing it to Borneo is worthwhile.

CNY: Protein Overdose in KL

" Chinese New Year is the period where the highest number of people in the world migrate from one place to another". I read this statement in an article writing about the mass exodus of people from large cities across China. Being the most populated country in the world and supplying the world's labour, it is no surprise that it represents migration across the world during CNY.

I would have contributed to the numbers , but for the first time in years, i remember NOT having to sit in the crawl inching my way back for the reunion dinner on the eve of chinese new year. I can say it is a breath of fresh air.

One thing remains the same as previous years is the food. Aplenty of them. On the eve we had these for dinner;

On the 2nd day we did the "lou sang" and these ;

On the 4th day we had "lou sang" again and paid the bill that almost took my life;

On the 7th day we had "lou sang" AGAIN ;

On the 8th day, just before everyone heads off for work again we finished something like these;

All in all, after 3 "lou sangs", unmeasureable calories intake and overdosed with protein; CNY this year was a blast.

Kai Kiok

I'm gonna start a series of "Best in Malaysia" series on food reviews. The tag sounds a bit overwhelming and of course critics will question what are the comparison parameters or even have i went all over the country. What the heck, its based on my tastebuds and my limited experience. Keyword : MY.

So to it off, I would present the award "Best Kai Kiok in Malaysia" to Tangkak kai kiok. I've never been a fan of chicken feet but the moment i sunk my teeth into it there were no doubts that it was the best.

So good that I can't stop at one. I'm still not a kai kiok lover but i'll have a second helping on Tangkak kai kiok anytime.
