3 years...

Funny thing today i received a notification that someone left a comment of one of my post. I clicked on the linked and re-read the post and was laughing away at what i wrote. Never knew these junks were on my brain those days. Then I checked the date of my last masterpiece entry & it was exactly 3 years ago since i wrote anything here. Ok, let's see, what are some of the interesting things I could remember in the past 3 years...

1. The world will end in 2012. This is confirmed by rotten tomatoes.

2. I stop blogging cause I;m too lazy to keep it updated.

See ya again in 3 years time :D

Civil War

A war has erupted again just like it happened before. During the last great war, Gondorians and Vikings were severely wounded, some with permanent scaring. It only needed one change to end the futile sufferings of both armies. It came to their senses when one party decided to step one pace back, and a peace treaty was struck. Hatred was buried, peace returned to their shared land.

The Vikings and Gondorians lived in peace and with much love for many moons, the Vikings has cremated any ill feelings and believed their existence with the Gondorians will last for generations, but deep inside the Gondorians, they still harbor a seed of doubt on the Vikings’ previous alliance, the Persians. Imaginary visions of Vikings uniting with the Persians once again to betray and overthrow the Gondorians causes uneasiness and they knew it’s only a matter of time before a fresh brewed storm with the Vikings will dawn upon them once again.

And it came on one of the many occasion of the Vikings’ drunken rampage and verbal diarrhea, the Gondorians took the opportunity to strike. The battles was fast and furious, both armies withheld their dignity and would not give in, for they knew offering a glimpse of egoistical weakness will translate into accepting a defeat. The Gondorians went to the extent to confront their perceived enemy Persians in hope to quash their inner ghost.

The Gondorians and Vikings realize and admits they need one another to flourish, and having encounter and defeated many common nemesis and tests of nature, both understands one another inside out. Gondorians are well-built and tough on the exterior, yet fragile on the inside. Vikings are calm and cocky in portrayal, yet easily punctured in terms of feelings and emotion. Only one thing they share in common, their egos!

To make peace again, Gondorians would need the Vikings’ commitment to build and sustain their land and to express their loyalty in action. But the nature of the rebellious Vikings makes this simple task to appear like a daunting one. The Vikings are actually ready but true to their nature does not reveal them easily.

At present, The Vikings are suffering in excruciating pain and so are the Gondorians. All the Vikings need is a SINCERE apology. The Vikings forgive and forget because all it matters to them is the future of their land with the Gondorians, not its ugly past.

Culture Shock: Bali

There’s so many artistic talent around, especially the area of Ubud. No, I’m not shock at the countless art galleries in the area but the fact that even their garbage truck is tastefully painted!

Space is a limitation on an island. Add to the fact that Bali’s hilly topography, even paddies are grown on hill terraces. As such, flat land is considered a premium. So where do school children do their marching practices? - On the trunk road in the midst of the oncoming traffic!
Open top vehicles are not uncommon. Take a open-top bus when you’re down in Singapore to explore the city. Rent a convertible if you’re in Langkawi and catch the sea breeze. In Bali, locals catch a ride on their open-top “buses” for short journeys.

Pig is a revered animal. Name of shops, kept as pets or most importantly as food.

They despise Terrorists for obvious reasons.

They are very creative with words and sentences.

Bali Writing

Before I jetted off to Bali, was contemplating of getting inked. When I set foot in Kuta, I know I HAVE to get inked. The sheer presence of Tattoist in Kuta is jaw dropping. In the tiny lane of Poppies 2, there’s no less than 10 shops! Walk 100 metres to the main street of Jalan Legian, turn to your left or right, you won’t miss illuminated many “TATTOOS” signs.

Again I thought of getting my private parts inked like this guy, but my courage is not up to par yet …so decided to design my own tattoo. Ok, admit i'm a lousy artist.

Couple of hours later, my tattooist presented me with his drawing. I’ve decided to choose a Balinese pattern to compliment my existing clover. They actually called the patterns “Balinese Writing”.

So the pain began..

The final product. All I need to do now is beef-up my arm.

Now, literally I have an ace of clover up my sleeve.

Certificate of Borderline Insanity

I’m proud to confess that now I can kill and get away with it. The other way to get the off hook for murder is having shitload of money. Realizing it a far shot for me to create that kind of wealth, I had to resort to getting myself certified as borderline insane.

All I had to do was to jump off a 45 meters tall tower into a 5 meters deep pool with the beachfront sunset as the background.

Yup, I’ve did my FIRST bungy jump in AJ Hackett, Bali. GB decided to do it as well, overcoming her fear at the last minute. I was relatively calm all the way during the elevator ride, waiting for my turn, even till the last moment standing at the edge of the platform. Without thinking much, at the last count of 5 I ejected into space and down I went. That’s when I almost pee-ed in my pants! I closed my eyes momentarily because I was so scared of the gushing wind but forced it open again to make sure I experience the entire fall.

The second jump was a reverse jump and darkness has set it by now (though its only 6.30pm). I was more prepared this time but it did not take any fear away.

After the dizzy hangover and USD 59 bucks poorer, we were finally awarded the Certificate of Borderline Insanity, an AJ Hackett T-Shirt for bragging, a sticker for some cheap advertising and a pack of condom for ,anal sex later souvenir.

OK, one final one...

You Are Spider-Man

Quick and agile, you have killer instincts (literally).
And that kind of makes up for the whole creepy spider thing.

Athiest

You Are An Atheist

God? No thanks. You're not buying into any religion.

They're all bunk to you. You rather focus on what you know is true.

You may be a passive non-believer or a rabid atheist activist.

But one thing is for sure... no one's going to make you go to church!

How American am I?

Found this little test when reading a blog. Tiu lor, i'm tarnished but I'm lovin' it.

You've Been a Little Ruined by American Culture

Whether you live in the US or not, deep down you're a little American.
And there's nothing wrong with loving American culture, but it may have negative effects on your life.
Slow down and enjoy what you have. Reconnect with life's simple pleasures.
You don't need to be in a consumerist rat race. Life's too short to overwork yourself!

Millionaire

A millionaire. Not just a millionaire but a Multi-millionaire. What will I do with the new found wealth? My expectations are not too high, but here few things I would do:

1. My boss shall get a “go-fly-kite” letter from me. No need to work anymore!

2. I’ll zoom down the street of Bangsar with my Lamborghini Diablo.

3. Get myself BIGGER. In terms of upper body muscles. Full time personal trainer will do the job.

4. Have kids everywhere. Err.. I meant adopted kids from Namibia, Cambodia and Sri Lanka ;)

5. Become a serious PLAYER. Golf player.

6. Buy a mansion facing the sea.

7. Go for many many HAM SAP (salty & wet) excursions. Diving in the ocean.

Being a millionaire is not a dream….. in fact I’m one today! But have to hold on to the wish list above, cause a millionaire in Indonesia only allows me a budget vacation.

Well, I’m counting my blessings and shall continue to dream on…

Is she the best for ME?

The two ladies sat in front of me. To my right is Su Lan. To the left is Vgin. I've been with Su Lan for almost 2 years now. I met Vgin 2 months ago. I know i have to make a choice. This is my future.

In the 2 years i spent with Su Lan, one hand is adequate to keep track of the happy memories we had have. I know i will never be happy with Su Lan if i continue this relationship. I'm not madly in love with Vgin either but she offers me a window of hope. She can offer me renewed enthusiasm to wake up every morning and embrace her. The choice is obvious- marry me Vgin!

As i knelt down to my left and reaching out for the platinum ring, my parents stormed into the room and both exclaimed in coherence, "STOP THIS NONSENSE".

Me: Pa, Ma, shouldn't i be the one determining my own happiness?

Ma: You are too short sighted and ridden with emotions to make a wise decision, my son.

Me: I thought i explained myself clearly, Su Lan does not know any other pattern. And you know how artistic i am during my "performance". I have not been able to perform up to my usual high standard of thrice a day. But the thought of Vgin itself can make me shoot down the burung gagak in Bangsar.

Pa: I understand son, we both have seriously thought about it, and we are sure you've made the wrong choice and one day when you look back you'll thank us.

Me: You are not giving me a concrete reason! I can't see why this decision is wrong, to myself and also to the family. With me regaining to my former self i will have no problem planting the seed into Vgin for the continuity of this family. Isn't that your no.1 priority?

Ma: Yes, that's what we want. That's why we chose Su Lan for you...cause she got damn huge butt!!!

Pa: Somemore Su Lan can be part time maid for the family since she knows how to cook and wash. Smart leh, son.

I know the choice has been made for me. And i'm powerless to overturn their decision. They have their own agenda behind the decision which suits them best, but not for me. I disagree with their rationale, but had to accept it in the end.

An analogy of the corporate world. You can voice your preference, but they will decide what's best for you. Sigh.

Once a Tiger

The greatest era of Malaysian Football was undoubtedly during the late 70s where we qualified for the 1980 Olympics. I am not familiar the those names who graced the nation then but you can’t go wrong with Mokhtar Dahari and Arumugam. Those days, when we are the tiger, the Japanese would be a cat and the Viets might be a kuci-rat.

The roar is the 80's

Come the era of the 90s which I remembered most vividly as I was introduced to football by my brother back in 1991, the Semi-Pro league was bustling with stars. When Matlan Marjan scored a couple against the mighty Manchester United during their post season friendly tour, though the Malaysian selection lost 2-4, I was proud and there were hope for local football. We still could not qualify for Asia Cup or the Olympics not to mention the World Cup, but getting the gold medal in the 1989 SEA games at least assured us of respect in this region. We can give excuse that we’re not up there physically against the Iranians or Arabs. Otherwise we can also appear puzzled that we cannot match the diet of Koreans and Japanese which help increased their average over the past 20 years. Our nasi lemak and bak kut teh have not been proven for building muscles.
The 90's -skinner, but still fearsome

Nearly all the top stars were wiped out like a nuclear holocaust due the the major corruption breakthrough in the Semi-Pro league by late 90s. Heading into the new era of 2000, new players came into ranks. The result? ZERO major tournaments qualified; ZERO regional cups won. Now the tiger has been tamed, not just by the Arabs or east Asians, but even became a punching bag for the likes of Indonesia, Myanmar and Vietnam.

The last time we qualified for Asia Cup was back in 1980 This year we’re in cause we’re one of the co-host. First round results are in : Versus China we kena whack 1-5. Versus Uzbekistan we kena whack 0-5. Last match vs. Iran. Save me from the final score. Gone is the tiger, we're only a kitten now.

Malaysia football in this era.

He struck again

Been a while since I got a chance to lay my hands on a new victim. Either they’re too well protected or am seeing the same faces again. Though i still DO my repeat victims, but it has no glory to shout about.

My prayer was answered last Saturday. At first sight i i knew she's vulnerable. My thirst for fresh meat heightened my senses; My fear suppressed... Here we go again. Opportunity is when luck and preparation crosses path.

Face-distorter strikes again…

So cute… Hay Lee. CS' barely one-year old daughter. I think she got her father's personality and her mother's good looks.

Redang – Underwater Paradise

Caught a last-minute trip to Redang with a a group of strangers bar 1 couple of weeks back. Was invited by my colleague W to join her bro’s diving trip since one from the group chickened out at the 11th hour.

I was eager as much as nervous for this trip since my last dive was back in Jan 06. I admit i've even forgotten how to fix the equipment. I wouldn’t want to be a butt-joke to this group of strangers if when I struggled underwater yet I craving to see those fishes and creatures hiding amongst corals. Classic case of lust triumphing over ego.

Another added incentive was to try out the underwater casing I got from the Canon warehouse few months back. Typical me, a good bargain is what I savor most. What i had was just a tiny dagger in comparison to the extensive weaponry the rest carried.
At the end of the day I’m happy with few excellent shots of Nemo though the best shots were taken by my dive buddy, SS.
Shots from SS's bigger "weapon":

The highlight of this trip was going for my first night dive and also deep dive. Since SS and E was taking their advance diving course, got a chance to tag along for these dives usually not permitted for Open-Water diver like myself.

The down side was that I didn’t have a chance to see any REAL mermaids. Only this. Bummer.
